Woke up nicely rested and then headed to a small cafe in Perth for a nice breakfast sitting by the sidewalk. James and I talked about how much fun the weekend had been, and James kindly volunteered to take me around to some shops in Perth for some more shopping (don't have to twist my arm on that one!) Found a couple of really nice places with a good variety of clothes. I ended up buying several shirts, and a really cool necklace that looked like barbed wire, but was really made of soft leather. The clerks in all of the stores were really friendly, everyone asking us if we had a good time over the weekend, to which we of course said yes. Also went to a big record store with a great selection of dance music and picked up a couple of new CDs. (Gotta crank up the MP3 converter again!). Then we drove around the East Perth area. Until recently the area was undeveloped, and now there's an inlet from the river that's been built and a ton of new construction going on. Many big houses overlooking the river as well as cafes and offices. Perth is definitely a growing city. At 1pm we met most of the crew at "The Queens Hotel", a nice restaurant in Perth. Matthew had to work, but Jean-Pierre rode in with Sam and Andrew. We had a really nice leisurely lunch. It was taking me some time to get used to relaxing enough to have a two and a half hour lunch, but it was very nice. One big difference in restaurants in Australia is that they don't bring the bill to the table, you go to the register to pay, so there's no pressure to leave. Also, except at really fancy restaurants, you don't leave a tip. After lunch James took me to a few more stores in a town called Suibaco (JP still hadn't been there, though he had been hinting to Matthew that he wanted to for several days). Bought a few more shirts to add to the collection.

We went back to Matthew's, changed, listened to some music, and then headed out to a really nice restaurant called "The Boat House", which was on the bank of the river, looking over at the Perth skyline. I wanted to take JP, Matthew and James to dinner to thank them for such a wonderful time in Perth.
After dinner we headed back to King's Park to see the city from above at night. The weather was perfect, clear, warm and dry. Afterwards we went back to the house, I said good-bye to James for the evening, and then after chatting with JP and Matthew for a while, I tried to figure out how to get everything to fit back into my suitcase before going to sleep.
