We woke to glassy seas and some blue sky on the Weddell Sea. We started with a zodiac tour where we saw pengiuns, seals, killer whales and even a leopard seal up on the ice!

Then we went ashore on Brown Bluff which has a huge penguin colony. We saw gentoo, chinstrap and adelie penguins all together on the beach. We walked down to the main colony and then just sat for about half an hour, watching all the busy little penguins going to and fro. After about an hour and a half we went back to the ship and had lunch.

In the afternoon we moved to Gourdin Island where Rick did a zodiac tour while Randy took a nap on the boat. Later in the afternoon we went up to the lounge for a recap of the day, then had dinner in the bistro, followed by an early bedtime, it had been a busy day.
