Wednesday - January 26, 2022Coos Bay, OR
Walked on the beach a bit after breakfast. Alex & Jason took the car to Tokatee Klootchman State Park to look for some birds. Packed up the RV and headed south. Quick stop at Safeway for supplies. Arrived at Bay Point Landing, great park right on Coos Bay. We had a nose in waterfront site, Alex & Jason had a super modern cabin, also with a water view. Chilled for a bit, then all went for a swim in the indoor pool. Very fun! Ordered Domino's Pizza with delivery to Alex & Jason's cabin. Station Eleven was the TV choice for the evening.
Thursday - January 27, 2022Coos Bay, OR
Jason had some work calls to make so the rest of us drove south to Sunset Bay, then on to Shore Acres State Park for lots of drone and photo fun. Finished at Simpson Reef Overlook where we saw lots of sea lions, elephant seals, and harbor seals. Rick made lunch back at the RV. Alex spent some time at South Slough for some bird watching. In the afternoon Randy stayed behind for some drone flying and the rest of the group headed back south to show Jason the sites we had seen in the morning. Lots of starlings in the air! (Murmuration) Alex & Jason headed to a seafood restaurant for dinner; Randy & Rick ate in the RV.
