Monday - January 24, 2022Yachats, OR
After breakfast we walked down to Eel Lake for some photos and drone flying, then drove north. Stopped at Fred Meyer for some extra bedding (and wine), then stopped along the river for some crab chowder and coffee. Continued north to Sea Perch RV Resort. Had the same amazing site as last year, right at the edge of the ocean. Alex and Rick drove down to the Heceta Head Lighthouse and Cape Creek Bridge for some pictures. Randy flew the drone at the RV park for a bit. Randy made chicken adobo for dinner.
Tuesday - January 25, 2022Yachats, OR
Took the car north past Newport to the Devil's Punchbowl. Then south to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Cobble Beach. Drove in to Newport along the water to Clearwater, a great seafood restaurant looking out over the water (and sea lions). On the other side of the river we checked out an estuary trail with lots of birds for Alex. Stopped at Ona Beach for a bit. Drove up the hill to Cape Perpetua Lookout which had an amazing view. Drove south to Thor's Well (insert Chris Hemsworth joke here). Hung out back at Sea Perch. Alex made kielbasa and broccoli for dinner. Watched some trash TV before bed.
