Saturday - January 22, 2022Hornbrook, CA
Alex & Jason picked us up at 8:30am and we headed to Oakley. Transferred gear to the RV, headed north. Stopped at (the weird) Whole Foods in Concord for supplies. Strong winds on the drive up I-5. Stopped for lunch and bird watching north of Sacramento at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. Continued north to Blue Heron RV, nice small park along the Klamath River, had a great view out the windows. Temperature dropped quickly after sunset. Settled in for our first night in the RV.
Sunday - January 23, 2022Lakeside, OR
Drove north to Roseburg, then headed West along highway 42 to Coos Bay. Picked up a rental car at Enterprise at the Coos Bay Airport. Stopped for lunch at John Topits Park, then drove north to William M. Tugman State Park. Had a beautiful site surrounded by trees and almost no other campers. Randy did a bit of RV repair while the rest of the group checked out the nearby sand dunes and the "metropolis" of Reedsport. Checked out Eel Lake in the RV park. Alex made chili for dinner. Watched Nomadland before bed.
