Fly to Los Angeles, then on to San Jose

Monday, Day 13 - Previous

We woke up around 8am, had breakfast in the hotel, packed, and then went over to the AMP tower, which has an observation deck at 750 feet.

We had a great 360 degree view of the city, which is quite large. Sydney has 8 or 9 million people, in a country with 19 million.

Afterwards we walked back to the hotel, then waited for our 1pm limo to the airport.

Looking back on the tower from the park.

The limo driver seemed to like really strong scents, as he had some sort of air freshener gone terribly wrong hanging on the dashboard vent. Opening the rear windows provided some level of fresh air, but not enough... ack.

10 inch jelly fish in the harbor.

A tribute to matches?

Our chariot back to the States.

The airport was thankfully quiet and we were able to go to the gate fairly quickly, though security did think Randy looked like enough of a risk to do a hand search of all of his luggage. What is it, the goatee? Boarding the plane, we took off just before 4pm, with arrival scheduled in Los Angeles at 10am, earlier the same day (!). Falling asleep took a while, but once we did we slept for 6 or 7 hours and woke up felling pretty good, thanks, once again, to the Ambien, we avoided any jet-lag. Better living through chemistry! After a quick flight back to San Jose and a limo ride form the airport, we were home again. What a great trip!

We both had an amazing time, and want to thank Tiffany Major at Inta-Aussie South Pacific for setting the trip up for us. She did a great job suggesting many of the day trips we took, as well as getting us a great deal on business class plane tickets! Thanks Tiffany!
