Saturday - May 12
Back in July of 2006 we contacted several friends and planned a trip to Grand Cayman aboard the Cayman Aggressor IV liveaboard. Pete and Kevin, Tim, Matt, Rick's Dad and Pete's Dad all made plans to join us for a week in the sun.
Our route to Grand Cayman took us to Miami, and then on to Georgetown in the Caymans. We had a couple of hours in Miami where Pete, Kevin and Tim joined us for some marguerites at a Mexican restaurant. Once we got to the dock in Grand Cayman we discovered that our captain for the week was Piers who had been our captain on the Turks & Caicos boat the previous year!
Our fellow divers for the week were Louanne and Nelson, Dina and Bob, Don and Joanne, Paul and Carol, Carol and of course, Bond... Jane Bond. Our crew was Piers, Jamie, Jon Elizabeth and our fantastic cook, Yanis.
Sunday - May 13
Our first dive was on the Doc Polson wreck. It was a fairly shallow dive which let everyone check their weights and check out their gear. The wreck was in very good condition, sitting upright in the sand.
Then we moved to Stingray City where we jumped into 12 feet of water and were surrounded by several dozen hungry stingrays. Pieces of squid were passed around and the stingrays did everything they could to get them, sometimes swarming around the divers. It was a lot of fun to watch them glide around.
After lunch the boat moved to a site named Babylon. We did the first dive there, then sat out the second one to relax on the boat. After dinner we made the 8 hour crossing to Little Cayman, which turned out to be a fairly rough crossing.
