| On the evening of March 4th we headed down to San Diego to visit our friends Maia and Kevin and their daughter Sophia. It poured down rain Friday night, but then cleared up for the rest of the weekend. Saturday morning we went to the Quail Gardens where we saw lots of cactus and bamboo and a great selection of tropical plants. Saturday evening Sophia had a babysitter and the rest of us headed to downtown San Diego where we had dinner at Osetra, a seafood restaurant. It was lots of fun (and lots of food). Afterwards we walked around the very busy downtown area for a bit, and then headed to a small dessert cafe right around the corner from their house. Sunday morning Rick and Maia went for facials and massages, while Kevin and Randy went shopping for a new digital camera for Maia. Around 3 we headed to the airport and back home. A short trip, but lots of fun! |
