On August 1 Rick's parents, Fred and Katie, flew down from Seattle for a visit.

Friday morning we drove down to Monterey and went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, then had dinner and walked around cannery row for a while. Saturday morning we drove down to Big Sur and then back to Carmel, where we walked around for a few hours and Katie did some shopping.
